Community Improvement Grants
The purpose of the Community Improvement Grant (CIG) Project is to encourage and support efforts by groups and individuals to improve the community. The grant program is for small projects – but many small projects together can offer big, positive changes for our Mountain Community.

Guidelines:
-
Any group or individual may apply for a grant to improve our Loma Prieta, Lexington, and Lakeside communities of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
-
Grant funds are to be used for projects that provide an identifiable benefit or positive impact the community at large.
-
Grant requests are typically in the $100-$500 range. We will entertain larger requests.
-
All requests must include details on how the money will be spent. The LPCF grant committee has final discretion on how much is awarded.
-
Grant recipients are required to provide a report to LPCF with an accounting of the expenditures, including receipts, within three months of completion of the project or within six months after receiving the grant.
-
By submitting a Community Improvement Grant application, the applicant agrees to the above guidelines.
-
The Loma Prieta Community Foundation has the right to disclose to the public the names of the individuals and groups awarded grants, and how much money was awarded.
Examples of initiatives that qualify for a CIG include:
-
Coordinating & sponsoring a community clean up day
-
Beautification Project including but not limited to improving landscaping in a public area (or areas of public access)
-
Efforts to increase Disaster Preparedness
-
Improvements to community parks/public areas
-
Other projects that bring people together and build community.

Bench Plaque Program
LPCF’s Bench Plaque Program offers an opportunity to dedicate a plaque in honor of, or in memory of, a community member. Plaques will be permanently mounted on the bench backrests in the Redwood Amphitheater, behind the Gazebo. The cost of each plaque is $500 with all proceeds going to the Loma Prieta Community Foundation to further their work of providing community support.

The process to request a plaque is pretty simple:
-
You make the plaque request and payment
-
LPCF rep will review and finalize plaque wording with you
-
LPCF will order the plaque (typically within 2 weeks of request)
-
You will receive notification when plaque is received and offered an opportunity to be present when the plaque is mounted
-
On agreed upon day, the plaque will be placed
<Coming soon> You can see a map of existing bench plaque locations to pick the one you want.
