The Loma Prieta Community Foundation

Serving the Loma Prieta community in the Santa Cruz Mountains, our focus is on our community. We help raise money to support local activities and improvements and sponsor and support local organizations and events.

Theatre in the Mountains

Theatre in the Mountains is a program of the Loma Prieta Community Foundation, dedicated to providing theatrical opportunities for children and adults throughout the year.

Firesafe Roads / Escape Routes

Group formed to create a comprehensive community-wide survey of rural roads to identify and quantify the viability of escape routes from all residences. For more info, please see Fire Safe Roads

Rockin In the Mountains

Mountain Area Over 55 Club

The program provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere where neighbors can come to socialize, play cards or other table games, listen to informative talks exchange a book in the rotation library, and/or just stop by for a chat and “cuppa”. Chemeketa Firewise

Since 2019, Chemeketa Firewise has conducted educational workshops; removed more than 1,380 cubic yards of hazardous fuels; created a temporary area of refuge/staging area for first responders; established evacuation routes and posted signage; collaborated with many stakeholders (i.e. PGE, SJ Water, elected officials, other Firewise communities, County Fire and Cal Fire); and, coordinated volunteer brush clearing days, household hazardous waste removal days, and more.

Fall Mountain Soccer League

For grades 2-6, LGS Recreation Fall Mountain Soccer League is a recreational soccer program that has been serving the Los Gatos Community for many years. It is a “non-competitive” community league with teams comprising a mix of girls and boys at different
ages. The focus of the league is to teach Soccer skills, develop team spirit and foster a positive
experience. We strive to give all participants equal play time and to keep teams evenly matched. All games have referees. Good sportsmanship is mandatory. Participants will learn Dribbling, Shooting, Passing, Offensive/Defensive Maneuvers, and Teamwork. More info at http://register.asapconnected.com/CoursesIndex.aspx#f

Community Improvement Grants

The purpose of the Community Improvement Grant Project is to encourage and support efforts by groups and individuals to improve the community. The grant program is for small projects – but many small projects together can offer big, positive changes for our Mountain Community. Read more about it on our

Bench Plaque Program

LPCF’s Bench Plaque Program offers an opportunity to dedicate a plaque in honor of, or in memory of, a community member.  Plaques will be permanently mounted on the bench backrests in the Redwood Amphitheatre, behind the Gazebo.   The cost of each plaque is $500 with all proceeds going to the Loma Prieta Community Foundation to further their work of providing community support.
